Mintos, the award-winning global marketplace for investments in loans, has reached EUR 2 billion in total loans financed through the marketplace. This success has inspired the Mintos team to launch the Mintos Impact Fund. The first initiative will be cleaning up the Baltic Sea together with Pasaules Dabas Fonds (associated partner of WWF) and WWF Deutschland, where together with investors, Mintos will crowdfund EUR 100 000 to donate to the project.

The Mintos Impact Fund’s first initiative – EUR 100 000 for the Baltic Sea

EUR 2 billion invested through their marketplace embodies the many efforts that they have been putting our work into and will continue to do so. This is the result of their proactive attitude toward investors’ needs, our drive to continually build a diverse portfolio of our marketplace while keeping a great average interest rate, and their internal quest to expand their team with great people in order to bring value to all of their stakeholders.

Mintos CEO and Co-Founder Martins Sulte: “We believe it’s about time that startups also step up and do something for the environment. Mintos has a strong base of cognisant and critically thinking customers – investors who see the need to do their part in preserving our world – that’s what lets us join together in this environmental sustainability initiative and do good together. Our first project – supporting the Baltic Sea’s marine ecosystem – is also symbolic of where the majority of our investors’, as well as our company’s roots are from.”

Baltic Sea and Freshwater Programme Manager at Pasaules Dabas Fonds (associated partner of WWF) Elza Ozolina: “We are pleased to see that the interest in environmental protection grows within the Baltic region. Cooperation with Mintos indicates that the new generation of young, fast-growing tech entrepreneurs are entering the arena with a clear sustainable development vision both locally and internationally. We are happy to be the partners of the Mintos Impact Funddebut project.”

The goal of the Mintos Impact Fund’sfirst project is to raise EUR 100 000 for Baltic Sea preservation by the time the company marks the milestone of the next billion euros funded in loans. With investors funding almost EUR 200 million of loans each month, Mintos expects to reach the next billion milestone – EUR 3 billion – already by September 2019. The funds will be crowdfunded together with more than 125 000 Mintos investors with Mintos participating with its share to reach the EUR 100 000 goal.

Funds will be allocated to Baltic Sea sustainability projects – to support the preservation of the endangered Baltic Sea and its coasts framing the sea including Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Sweden.

Mintos becomes the go-to marketplace for investors who want to invest in loans globally

Mintos CEO and Co-Founder Martins Sulte: “Hitting the EUR 2 billion milestone that quickly shows that we are on the right path of making financial services better with the help of technology. The average net return of 12% that investors have earned so far, together with the easy to use and transparent user experience, has made Mintos the preferred marketplace for investments in loans across the world.”
